IJmuiden
About the colour: Steel blue
IJmuiden is famed for the giant steelworks Koninklijke Nederlandse Hoogovens en Staalfabrieken (KNHS) or informally Hoogovens, built between 1920 and 1940. After several mergers the IJmuiden steelworks were purchased by India-based Tata Steel and renamed Tata Steel Europe in 2010. Among chess lovers, the IJmuiden steelworks are best known as the main sponsor of the Hoogovens Chess Tournament, nowadays Tata Steel Tournament, one of the strongest chess tournaments in the world. In the Netherlands the name IJmuiden is almost synonymous with steel, so Steel blue was a logical choice for the colour of our IJmuiden prints.
